The scheme of switching of the lever of the mechanical transmission is shown in the figure 1.127.
When switching transfer press a coupling pedal down to an emphasis, then slowly release. At the movement you do not hold a leg on a coupling pedal as it can lead to coupling breakage. Do not use coupling for deduction of the car at a stop on rise – use for this purpose the parking brake.
Too bystry switching to the raising transfer, or too slow switching to the lowering transfer will lead to an overload of the engine and emergence of a detonation. Continuous increase in turns of the engine to the maximum speed on each transfer results in the increased wear of the engine and increase in fuel consumption.
The most admissible speeds
For entrance on the high-speed highway or overtaking of slowly moving transport the maximum acceleration can be required. Surely observe the following most admissible speeds for each transfer:

ATTENTION
Do not include the lowering transfer if the speed of the movement exceeds the most admissible speed on the following lowering transfer.

At the complicated switching to transfer of a backing switch to neutral transfer, at once release a coupling pedal, then try to switch once again.
At towage of the trailer for preservation of efficiency of braking by the engine do not include the fifth transfer.
