2.2.7.20. Assembly of the block of cylinders

Fig. 2.128. Installation of inserts of radical bearings

To establish inserts of radical bearings, combine ledges of the top inserts of bearings with bores (deepenings) of beds of the block of cylinders and insert inserts (fig. 2.128).

NOTE
The top halves of inserts (installed in the block of cylinders) have oil flutes and openings, and lower (established in covers of radical bearings) – have no. Clear the back surface of an insert of the bearing and the surface of the block of cylinders contacting to an insert. Do not allow hit of oil and dirt on these surfaces. Clear the back of an insert of the bearing and a surface of a cover of the bearing contacting to an insert. Do not allow hit of oil and dirt on these surfaces.

Fig. 2.129. Combination of ledges of inserts of bearings with grooves in covers of radical bearings

Combine ledges of the lower inserts of bearings with grooves in covers of radical bearings and establish them (fig. 2.129).

Fig. 2.121. Numbering of covers of radical bearings

Place a bent shaft in the block of cylinders. Establish covers of radical bearings according to the markings specified on their case (see fig. 2.121). Apply a thin film of engine oil on a carving and under heads of bolts of fastening of covers of radical bearings. Establish and evenly tighten bolts of covers of radical bearings for several passes in the inhaling of 20 N shown in the drawing 2.122 sequences by the moment · m. After that once again tighten bolts of covers of radical bearings in the same sequence the moment of 40 N · m.

NOTE
If the bolt does not drag on the specified moment, replace it.

Fig. 2.130. The tag applied on a bolt side

Apply on the bolt side turned to a forward part of the engine, a tag (fig. 2.130).
Turn bolts on 90 ° in the order stated above. Make sure that all tags turned on 90 ° from initial situation. Make sure that the bent shaft rotates freely. Check an axial gap of a bent shaft. Install the piston and a rod assembled.

Fig. 2.131. Correct installation of the piston and rod assembled

Using the device for compression of rings, install in cylinders piston sets according to their numbers, having oriented tags "before" on pistons towards a forward part of the engine, as shown in the figure 2.131.
Establish covers of rods, having checked compliance of numbering of covers of conrod bearings and rods. Establish the lower covers of rods so that tags "before" were turned to a forward part of the engine. Apply a layer of engine oil on a carving and under heads of bolts. Evenly, in several passes, wrap fastening bolts. Tighten bolts on 90 °. Make sure that tags on bolts are located under 90 ° in relation to initial situation now. Make sure that the bent shaft turns smoothly.
Measure an axial gap of rods.
Establish a back epiploon of a bent shaft.
