2.2.8.4. Installation of an asterisk VVT-i

Establish VVT-i asterisk.

Hold an asterisk in such situation that the groove was in it a bit more to the left of an adjusting pin of the camshaft (at a look from a shaft) (fig. 2.145).
Install an asterisk on the camshaft. Slightly press an asterisk and turn it counterclockwise. Make sure that there is no visible gap between an asterisk and an end face of the camshaft.

NOTE
Do not rotate an asterisk clockwise.

Holding a shaft a key, tighten a fastening bolt the moment of an inhaling of 54 N · m (fig. 2.146).
Make sure that the VVT drive moves clockwise and is fixed by a lock pin in the correct situation. Temporarily wrap a fastening bolt. Holding a shaft a key, tighten a fastening bolt.
