In a usual throttle branch pipe opening of a butterfly valve unambiguously is defined by effort to pedals of management of fuel supply. On the contrary, in the ETCS-i system (fig. 2.211) the electronic control unit of the engine counts an optimum angle of opening of a butterfly valve which corresponds to traffic conditions, and uses the electric motor of the drive of a butterfly valve to operate its opening. The cable and the lever of the drive of a butterfly valve were removed, and the sensor of situation is installed on a pedal of management of fuel supply.

Principle of work.
The electronic control unit of the engine puts in action the electric motor of the drive of a butterfly valve by a task of a target angle of opening of a butterfly valve according to the mode of the movement of the vehicle.

Management of the frequency of rotation of the engine idling.
The control unit of the engine supports at the certain level the frequency of rotation of the engine idling.

Protection against shock loadings at gear shifting.
During gear shifting management of a butterfly valve is synchronized with work of the eats system (Transmission with electronic control) to reduce shock loadings.

System of automatic control of speed of the movement.
The engine electronic control unit with the integrated electronic control unit of system of automatic control of speed of the movement directly puts in action a butterfly valve for automatic control of speed of the movement.
